We’re excited to share a testimonial from a resident’s family member who saw Excellence and Collaboration in action at Milaca Elim Meadows.
“My 87-year-old dad had lived with me and my husband for 5 years and was certainly declining in his overall health. One morning when he woke up with extreme weakness, leg pain and confusion, we took him to the local emergency room.
After being in the ER for several hours for blood work and scans, the doctor advised us he should be admitted to a nursing home for professional nursing care. This advice was given to us at around 3:00 p.m.
The nurse at the emergency room, who we thought had made all the arrangements with Milaca Elim Meadows, discharged us. We headed straight to the nursing home with Dad.
Well, things were not communicated and the staff were not fully prepared to admit my dad.
BUT staff all worked together and got him admitted. The teamwork was amazing. Jamie, Natalie, Jennifer and Augusta all worked diligently to get all the paperwork in order. Nurse Ally was so kind to my dad and did his assessment. Jeremy from maintenance tracked down a cord for the lift chair so my dad would be able to sleep in it with his feet up. Keith from the kitchen came to get his supper order so he would get a warm meal—he hadn’t had anything to eat in the ER. My family was so thankful to the staff for keeping us all calm during this very difficult time. Our family got to see the collaboration firsthand and could leave for the evening knowing our dad was very well taken care of. Thank you, Milaca Elim Meadows!”
